Creating Connections  Convention

The term ‘student-athlete’ intentionally lists ‘student’ before ‘athlete. Different levels of competition drawing a thinner line between the two that others, but the main priority is to find the right fit and get a quality education. Many student-athletes, and students in general struggle with the concept of determine a major, or ‘what do I want to be when I grow up’. If you are a student-athlete with goals of playing in college, a big part of that process is researching schools that have areas of study/ degree offers you are interested in….but do they always know what degree pathway will lead to the career you are interested in? This is where we come in!
The CSA Creating Connections Convention is geared toward female students and female student-athletes. We have a powerful line up of female professionals who will speak to their educational and experience pathway to their current jobs. Students will be able to gain insight different major, careers and educational pathway opportunties. 

ACADEMIC CONVENTION

TIMES: 1pm – 5pm
LOCATION: Colorado Softball Academy
AGES: Females 8th Grade to Seniors

The goal of the Academic Convention is to help females gain a better understanding of what majors to pursue in college. During this event, they will have the opportunity to hear from female professionals in different areas talk about their pathways to their current careers. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice that will ultimately help them move closer to answering ‘what do I want to major in?’, or ‘what do I want to be when I grow up?’

COLLEGE READY

TIMES: 4pm – 5:30 pm
LOCATION: Colorado Softball Academy
AGES: Juniors & Seniors

The College READY class is an add on to the Convention. During this one hour and thirty-minute class, CSA instructor, Malori Pojar, with work with students to complete and submit applications and scholarships for their college aspirations. Students will identify colleges and scholarships that match with future goals.

Please bring a computer, notebook, and pencil to find and complete applications.

Students will have the opportunity of hearing from professionals in every collegiate area of study, including:
Business, Finance, Exercise Science, Arts, Trade Schools, Engineering, Political Science
The goal is for students to get a deeper understanding of which career pathways flow through different areas of study.
